I couldn’t find any posts regarding this subject, so I thought I’d make one.
I find it quite confusing how, being under 18, we can’t purchase ad credits using Card, but when it comes to purchasing Robux, we can use cards all we want.
There is a popular workaround to this, but it comes at a huge downside. I have to purchase Robux first, and then purchase ad credits, and as far as I’m aware, using Robux to purchase ad credits is significantly more expensive than directly purchasing ad credits using a card. Around 2.85x more expensive (1 Ad Credit = $1 or 285 Robux), or, if you include Roblox’s “buy more for more” deals, it drops down to 2.5x.
For example, If I wanted to purchase 200 ad credits using Card/USD, that would cost me $200, but being under 18, I have to pay roughly $490 (R$24,000+24,000+5,250+2,000+2,000 or R$57250), $525 if I was on mobile.
I could be overexaggerating this, and I’m obviously no expert in the legal side of things (assuming this is a legal issue), but I’m just looking for an answer as to why we need to do this more expensive workaround instead of being able to directly purchase ad credits the same way we use credit cards to purchase Robux.
