Why can't I make a river using the paint tool?

Hello, this is the first time I’ve launched studio in a few months (around 4)

Why does the water go under the terrain, inside of just replacing it?

You’re using Paint mode rather than Replace.

Oh it probably doesn’t work with water. I’m not an expert with terrain at all but you might just have to use the Draw tool.
