Why do I need a parent's permission to play games as an adult?

I don’t understand why I need a parent’s permission to play games I have previously already played before, especially considering my account is literally identified as an adult.

Removed specific dates for privacy, but literally the youngest I could possibly be is 16 (if I were born on the very last day, Dec 31st).

And even selecting the Ask now option and providing an email, I just never get an email. Button goes dark, email never arrives, nothing I can do.

I only vaguely know that Roblox has been screwing around with stealing your information and milking money out of kids, but how exactly does making a 21+ year old ask their parent for permission to play any Roblox game make sense?
How is it that my account is placed into an age group that can consume alcohol, but still need permission from a parent to play online games?

Edit:

They also literally already have my government ID (which I provided a looong time ago before this crazy age verification mess)–they know for a fact how old I am.

WHY DO I NEED PARENTAL PERMISSION TO PLAY ANY GAME?!

Make a bug report?

Maybe the age verification [ID or face or whatever] thought you were a child and didn’t update something properly
