Why does my survival game have a 60% rating?

Hey all, my game is good (in my opinion, of course) with the core gameplay being solid, and there are no game breaking bugs. For this reason I am surprised the rating is so low at ~60%. I would expect that a solid game with no bugs would be atleast 75%.
My game functions similar to any other survival game, like Survive the Killer or Murder Mystery.

Any idea why this is and how to improve?

Not sure but I’d suggest adding on the top of the screen, where the timer is what mode is currently active. When I joined the game players were voting and nothing was happening, I was confused. But when I clicked spectate I saw that there was already a match going on. Make it so the players know if they are in lobby or those who join late, like me.

Also if you go to feedback on the View Analytics page. Some players will tell you why they disliked it. Cool game though!

Also when you collect coins there aren’t any coin sounds. I’d suggest making the UI a bit more pleasing to the eye, instead of the boring gray.

the game itself is great, it seems like Murder Mystery 2 in the 2018-9 era.

the problem instead, is that the game feels empty.

you need more sounds and music, more effects (both VFX and Screen effects) and also the graphic is old gen, but it doesnt matter really.

What can you do?

  • add more sounds (like a Lobby music, players screaming when downed, zombies growling, coin sounds when interacting with em ecc…)
  • add more particles (like cartoonish blood or other when hitted, money particles when taking a coin ecc)
  • Improve the GUI (it feels odd and boring, is not an insult or whatever but the colors really dont match with eachother)
  • Improve the graphic (add meme posters, random PCs with a screen, Light beams, Textures…)

A simple solution would be to paint it a darker color to appeal to teenagers in your next installment, similar to the marketing in ā€œSurvive and Kill the Killers in Area 51ā€ to prevent confusion. This could help increase your rating above 62%

Keep up that active player count up!

I haven’t joined in the game, but judging from other replies and the thumbnail of the game, it’s made mostly with free models/catalog items.

The idea of this being a game for teenagers is not something I can see happening unless you did something like Survive The Night or Doors. As others have said too, toning the game down or using a more dulled color scheme would work. Also using original models would help tremendously.

You can also set the maturity rating to Mild if you don’t want to or aren’t able to add the changes suggested.

Apologies for sounding so rude, it isn’t my intention.

Thanks for the feedback @Virvek @deaconstjohn03

Here are some of the changes I made

  • Updated Gui
  • Added more Sounds & Effects for Deaths / Coin / etc

Gameplay edits

Most players were complaining about how hard it was to be a Survivor & Hunter, so I made these edits:

  • Monster speed was previously 18.5, now 16.5 (player speed is 16)
  • Hunter on Mobile was difficult for players to hit shots. Now only shoots if you tap the monster.
  • Monster currently has (3) shot health. Health Regens after (10) seconds.
