Hello! im a solo indie dev who want to make RPG and story games. i have enough experience to create a small story game, but i dont like my ideas. This is also related to my fear of Burnout(i havent any finished projects over these 3 years in Roblox studio). Can u help me with it if u can?
I also have some ideas i wrote in Word document.(But still dont like it)
i suggest you start refining/throwing out most of your ideas and ask yourself if youβre actually willing to go through the process of making the game you think would be amazing
if you donβt like an idea, donβt make it, simple as that. find something you actually want to finish, whether thatβs something you genuinely like or a smaller project to learn the ropes is entirely up to you. and as much as people praise high, consistent productivity, most people simply donβt work that way. weβre humans, and sometimes itβs more than necessary to take a break to do other things. donβt worry too much about getting things done β in the end you can only disappoint yourself
a good idea (imo) is one thats simple but can go great lengths. best example i can come up with are ones from anime like stands in jjba or todos swap power from jjk. ofc thats way harder than it sounds cus you cant just make an original simple idea; think of something unique that fits the criteria of F.O.C.E (i just made it up on the spot )
fun - you have to like the idea or else whats the point of making it
out of the world - i would said unique but F.U.C.E doesnt have as of a nice ring to it. make it an idea thats unusual.
cool - its just fun but i wanted to complete the anagramβ¦or whats it called when you have letters that mean something?
expandable - that idea has to be something that can either lead to other things or become something else thats bigger.

two people have to climb mount everest to get a wish to the genie. one doesnt believe its real and the other is going to wish for perfect hygiene for the rest of their life. on their way they mean the true value of friendship
now idk about all the plotholes like why he wouldnt believe in a genie but go anyways but i think this is a good example of F.O.C.E (or F.U.E )
edit: i also think you should have more detailed ideas, those go a long way
Its cool! but i cant answer this question. i have an idea that really like but its itβs beyond my abilities (and itβs huge in general). i dont want to worry u anymore. i just wanted an answer to my post. (sorry if its not undertandable. im not speak english)
