After a good time I touch again the LoadCharacter method, but I saw it is deprecated. What’s the difference? And why roblox discontinue objects or methods like BodyVelocity?
Use player:LoadCharacterAsync instead! All they did was change the name for clarity.
it’s* ![]()
and yeah..
That’s all! The new method behaves exactly the same.
What exactly is the point if I does the exact same thing. I feel like they should’ve just changed the name and had people update to the new version. instead of making two separate API functions.
They created new physics objects such as LinearVelocity that now require the use of Attachments, leaving the legacy items mostly obsolete in this case
They obiously can’t just remove the old function, which is why deprication is a thing.
Who said anything about removing the function?
Deprecation is the discontinuation of the function due to better alternatives existing, but it doesn’t make sense in this case if its superior has the exact same function. Rather, they should’ve updated the function itself
Since nobody else is going through the work of it, I guess I have to.
Deprecates nearly all yielding methods that did not end with Async and provides equivalent methods with Async in the name.
They’re the same, but the naming is different for consistency reasons.
