Widgets that are relocated to secondary monitors will repeatedly move when Roblox Studio is re-opened. This happens every time Roblox Studio is re-opened. The kind of widget (user plugin widgets, output, explorer, properties, etc) is irrelevant. This behavior occurs both in the legacy Studio layout and in the Studio Refresh Beta layout.
- Widgets shift to the left by 6 pixels and shift up by 29 pixels.
- Docked/floating widgets forcefully undock and exhibit the same behavior.
- As Studio is re-opened, widgets will shift again and again until they are out of bounds.
EDIT: Docked fullscreen widgets shift to the right by 8 pixels and up by 15 pixels.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open Roblox Studio
- Open a New Place
- Move any widget to a secondary monitor, with it docked or undocked/floating
- Exit Roblox Studio
- Re-open Roblox Studio
- Notice the difference in location
- Repeat steps 1 - 6 without step 3 to witness the additive effect
This behavior forces developers to relocate widgets located on non-primary monitors every time a Roblox Studio instance opens. This is incredibly tedious and I’ve dealt with it so much that the Win + Arrow keyboard shortcuts are ingrained into my muscle memory. I open Roblox Studio up to dozens of times every day, so this behavior being fixed would be a major win for me.
Expected behavior
Widgets’ locations should be maintained regardless of what monitor they’re located on. Docked widgets should continue to stay docked, and no widgets should shift upon re-opening of Roblox Studio.
