Hello, I am working on a Pacific Game which is nearly ready for release.
Would this ad succeed?
In my opinion, the background should be way less saturated so itās easier to read the text. Another thing is that there is way too much text and the font doesnāt look too appealing, especially when itās hard to read with that background.
(super good advice here!)
I would not click on this ad, and hereās why;
you want to have saturation in your advertisement to make it attention-grabbing, and Iād say that your ad is OK in that area. BUT, thereās usually no point in saturation/attention-grabbing when you canāt showcase elements of your game.
āOkay, so how do I fix this?ā
So to fix the unreadable text, I would firstly narrow the advertisement down to 3 talking points to add simplicity and size up the text for readability. The talking points should be things that you believe makes your game unique or things that spawn interest in the people viewing the ad. (ex. using your mind is expected when playing a video game, so that really isnāt a good talking point)
āIt still feels like itās missing somethingā¦ā
You should also use a backdrop of a aircraft carrier to point out that the gameās based on pacific warfare, it tells more of a story then just reading āPacific Warfare.ā.
Iād also dim down the backdrop of the aircraft carrier, so the text will stay easy to read and you might want to increase the saturation of the backdrop as well if it feels too dull.
Itās not a bad ad! Hereās my honest feedback on this:
Ads are more āseeā than āreadā, meaning that you have to show your game in a visual way rather than explaining it through text.
Have your ads have only the key points of your game, thereās no need to explain the entire game. The players can find out what the game is about by clicking and actually playing the game.
There should be maybe 2-3 lines of text max, itās very hard to reduce the words but itās what you need to do.
Next, never put bright on bright or dark on dark, it makes the text hard to read and the background does not match with the words. Your vibrant gold background clashes with the red text and it made me have to concentrate on reading the words.
Other than that, your game seems interesting to play, keep it up!
I would not click on that ad, you need to project your game in a way where itās more see than read, just like what @TheNesNes32 said.
