Will the plugins menu ever be cleaned up?

It’s absolutely pointless and redundant for a plugin with a single button to have it’s own toolbar, and it consumes a lot of space. The different-sized buttons and glitchy dropdowns make this menu ugly and difficult to use.

Suggestions:

  • The text for every button’s names should be at the same height, regardless of button size
  • Toolbars that contain only one button should be hidden from view. These buttons are instead all grouped together at the left side in a dedicated toolbar

In the end, I should have no reason to do this just to save space:

This is a major reason why system menu is not obsolete. Ribbon Bar has no will to make plugins simple to use.

This is the one reason why I stuck with System Menu for so long.

We should be able to create more tabs or something to categorize our plugins (just like the Terrain tab has its own suite of plugins).

There are several requests on the Trello board regarding similar things:



So far, the only one with a reasonable number of votes is the 3rd one. However, compared to this request:

they have a lower priority based on community feedback. If you want an idea to have a higher priority, go vote for it, and convince others to do the same!
