This is my current game icon. I was wondering how I can improve this icon as well as if it’s any good at all. I’m certainly no GFX artist or anything like that.

Maybe add a background color/gradient to it. I feel like the black isn’t that complimentary to the design.

I agree with what @TheNamesLua said about adding a gradient background. I also think that the text is slightly too close to the sides of the image, maybe shrink the size slightly. I reckon you could also add a shadow on the green bit to make it look like the box is sitting on it.
Apart from that I think it looks pretty great! I’m now curious about the game, and I’m sure other potential players would be too, which is what a good game icon should do.
Maybe make the background, blue? I love the simple design though
