Will this much water cause performance issues?

Hello everyone,

So this is my first time making an island map, and I’m kind of concerned about the performance due to all the water. (The water is represented by grey parts in the photo below.) The water takes up roughly about a 10,000 x 10,000 stud area. The water is not placed beneath the island segments however. The water is only about 20 studs deep if that makes a difference too. Will this cause any performance issues client or server side? Thanks :slight_smile:

ROBLOX water should not cause too much lag, I would not be concerned. The main thing that creates lag in a game are unions.

Totally not. Water is very optimized like all terrain. Even enabling terrain decoration wouldn’t be that much of an issue!
