Would a Third Person Shooter, capture-the-flag-style game be popular?

So, me and two other people are working on a TPS capture the flag type of game. I checked around, and the idea seemed fairly untouched, so we decided to try and make that type of game!

The three of us all have under a year of programming/building knowledge… But we still decided to try our best for the game!
There will be two teams, a red and a blue team. Each team will have four sub-teams, Heavy, Assult, Sniper, or Medic. Heavy is like shotguns, Assult is AK-47, etc.

Do you think this type of game would succeed? If not, what are some things I could change? I’d love feedback on this so that we could maybe alter our game and make it better! Thanks. :slightly_smiling_face:

I would really like to say that original ideas & games usually succeed, but to be honest, as far as I saw, that won’t usually happen. Although, do not lose your motivation, It seems like a good idea, and old players of roblox who are bored of playing the same games over and over will probably find something funny to do in your game.

Sounds a little bit like Team Fortress 2 if it was on Roblox and in third person. I see nothing wrong with it to be honest. It sounds pretty fun. I know a paintball game on Roblox already tackled the capture the flag idea as it has it available as a game mode, but beyond that, the rest of that game is spawn camping every round. If you are going to make this a game my advice is to try to fix the spawn camping issue.

That being said a third person shooter can be done and I think that if it is executed properly it could do rather well.

Im not sure if it would do well with new players to the platform, but anyone thats looking for a new shooters thats not Phantom forces (myself included) would probably love to play it

i dont find very many third person shooter games, and capture the flag + ahooter is unique; i see potential!

What would be some things you would be looking for in the game?

For example, sliding, croutching, sprinting, features, etc

Sorry im like a month late, but if you are still wondering then yeah, all of that, and higher detail 3rd person viewports.
