Would this concept prevent auto-aim exploiters?

I’m not 100% how auto-aim exploits work, but I assume that the client directs the player’s cursor to the heads of other player’s character models. Could this be prevented by running a client-side script that renames the parts of player characters to random numbers every time a character is loaded? The exploit would be unable to reliably locate if it is looking for parts named “Head” or “UpperTorso”.

You could just tell by attachments.

Using body parts is a simple way of making an aim assist cheat, but if it’s something that has to be worked around, they can just use the pivot of the character models. I personally don’t think it’s worth trying to implement.

Just embrace the issues (there’s nothing you can do), and just add a way for players to votekick.

You can’t make a client-side anti-cheat, as they’re the easiest things to bypass.
You can’t make a server-side anti-cheat as the server can’t read the player’s camera data, and attempting to judge based off amount of headshots will cause false-triggers for skilled players.

You can’t rename body parts as the attachments still exist, and you can’t rename the attachments because the motor6Ds exist. Renaming the motor6Ds could break animations.

Then, it’s not hard to, as @nkmisoup said, just read the pivot of the character, add Vector3.new(0,2,0) and then use that as the head position, or just use the pivot for almost guaranteed hits.

Then, if we’re talking super advanced cheats, some people write software to take screencaps every so often and analyze the snapshots, detecting the location of players on the screen and then emulating mouse movement to move over to that player.

As I said, just add a way for player’s to votekick one another.

I’d personally go with a TF2 method:
“Kick a selected player out of the server and bans the player from joining the server temporarily. The ban time is determined by sv_vote_kick_ban_duration. Only players on the vote-initiator’s team can be voted upon.”

To simplify that;

  • If there is a cheater on team 1, only players on team 1 can start a votekick against them.
  • Once votekicked, the kicked player cannot rejoin that specific server for a set duration.

Additionally, votekick systems should have a set percentage of votes in order to pass.
For example, there’s 14 players total, and the votekick percentage is 65%.
This means that 10 players have to vote “yes” in order for the player to get kicked if not rounding the percentage down.

If you don’t have a team system, then just do the generic votekick system.
