XBOX Pause menu doesn't recognize you're not pressing keys anymore on close

So I’ve been experimenting with adding XBOX controls to my game, and I’ve noticed that if someone opens their pause menu while their character is moving, any buttons being held down continue to act like its being pressed even after they unpause unless they press another button, this seems to be the case in any xbox supported games I play as well…

I’m trying to think of a fix to stop this behavior because it messes with my games movements (IE players sliding around because it hasn’t registered they stopped moving when they aren’t pressing any keys)

SMALL UPDATE: seems to be the case for normal pausing too, it will not properly detect keys that are not being pressed anymore.

Any advice on how to detect the pause menu + fix this wonky behavior?

Any workarounds or am I stuck with this behavior?

New update: SEEMS THIS BEHAVIOR FOLLOWS ON BUTTON PRESSES TOO, IF PRESSED AT THE RIGHT TIME THE GAME DOES NOT REGISTER BUTTONS NOT BEING PRESSED ANYMORE and will considered them still pressed down even if only clicked for a second.

Is this something I cannot fix?
