Starting September 30, 2026, we’ll complete the previously announced transition to direct video uploads by automatically removing existing YouTube videos from game details pages. The ability to add new YouTube videos has been disabled since November 2025.
If you want to continue featuring a video for your game, you can upload one directly through Creator Hub. Videos uploaded through Creator Hub are the recommended way to showcase authentic gameplay on your game across the platform, including homepage and the game details page.
Go to Configure > Places and select the place you want to update.
Select Videos from the left navigation.
Upload an authentic gameplay video that accurately represents your current game.
After we review and approve your video, it can appear on your game details page. For video requirements and best practices, see the video documentation.

This is a sensible change and I think direct video uploads are a much cleaner long term solution for game detail pages.
Keeping gameplay videos hosted directly through Roblox gives creators a more consistent way to showcase their experiences without relying on an external platform.
It should also make it easier for Roblox to ensure that videos accurately represent the experience players are about to join.
I especially like that direct uploads are free.
That removes an unnecessary barrier for smaller creators who still want to present their game professionally.
Having the same uploaded gameplay video potentially appear across both the homepage and the game details page also makes the system much more useful than simply embedding a YouTube link.
Authentic and current gameplay is important for discovery because players should have a clear idea of what an experience actually offers before joining.
Moving everything into Creator Hub also gives developers one central place to manage their game media rather than depending on third party integrations.
Overall, this feels like a good modernization of game detail pages and another improvement to how experiences can present themselves across Roblox.
Looking forward to seeing direct video uploads continue to become more integrated with discovery.
It was a good run for them but I understand the change. Hopefully we can have more than one video in the game’s page someday through the new system. Perhaps even A/B testing videos?
I’m always happy to see less Google trackers in Roblox.
Preventing anyone from creating a fingerprinting profile on children is an incredibly important step for child safety in this platform that we simply can’t ignore. It ought to be an essential step for adult safety as well.
you get 3 free video uploads a month. honestly a pretty hard quota to meet unless you’re churning out a new game every week / uploading videos before they’re ready.
Unfortunately this is just another thing for ai moderation to misinterpret or nit pick at and automatically ban people for, regardless of it breaking any rules.
Odd decision. This has been a feature for what? Like 10 years or more? So I’m not sure why it’s completely being removed, especially since alot of old games that havent been touched in years still have these as a thumbnail
