Looks like a bug with the new item page, I can’t see the number of sales on any items. This is a pretty big deal because I can’t tell how well my gamepasses are doing without seeing sales numbers.
This is a feature with the new pages, actually. You can still see your game pass sales by going to the develop page and clicking on Game Passes.
Is there a reason why you can’t, though? It makes the difference between a genuine item and a stolen one, a legitimate item and a scam item.
I believe its because before this update, people could use sales to figure out how much developers earn, which should be private info. So as a dev I like it.
As a clothes maker, this means nobody will know I made the original shirt, and people will just buy the stolen versions of mine. So as a clothes maker I dont like it.
It doesn’t even show how many hats were sold, when they were created, or updated. I don’t think this is all intentional
If there is a new limited item, how could I tell how many are available to purchase overall and how many of that stock amount have been sold?
For gamepasses, sure people could calculate how much the creator has earned, but does it really matter? We all know games in top earning gross millions of robux a month/year. In addition, this doesn’t make sense for items made by Roblox because of limited stock and roblox doesn’t make any profit from it.
I’ve got a hard time calling something that makes checking a simple stat a pain in the neck a “feature.”
Exactly! It’s sorta annoying to not see all the info
For game passes this is a nice thing to have (so that people can’t see how much profit you make off of certain game passes), for catalog items not so much.
You can still find out the sales of others via GetProductInfo, so them removing it due to privacy reasons would be silly.
I’d rather not open up studio and use a script or the command bar just to see how many sales something has, which should be displayed on the site. That’s a bit rediculous to have to resort to that.
Roblox should come up with a better rarity indicator for badges and use that on gamepasses. Like 50% of people who played the game for more than an hour in the past month bought this/earned this badge, so it’s common. And something that 15% got would be uncommon, etc.
Just some way to gauge how many people bought something that doesn’t give away sales data. I liked being able to tell how many gamepasses people bought, but we shouldn’t be able to see that specific info.
I didn’t say I like it, I just think it was done on purpose; not a bug. I think it’s very annoying and should be put back. Who cares how much developers make?
And even if you can see how much a dev is making from gamepasses, as far as I know there isn’t a way to see their earnings from DevProducts which can make up a huge portion of a devs earnings.
