Take Back the Night

Hello and welcome, I’ll try to make this short.

I think we’d all like to have the ability to remove skyboxes. I believe it would be ideal to have a color scheme for Lighting similar to how color3 for particles work.

The default skybox would be the current one, however if you delete it, you’ll see that the bottom of the world is whitish-blue, while the top of the world is sky blue, with a gradient between the 2 (meaning the halfway mark would be the horizon). When the skybox object is removed, Roblox will no longer force its starry-sky skybox on you, it’ll stay the same color until you change it.

This way, you’ll be able to have a custom ambient script where the fog will perfectly blend in the distance with your skybox’s color. Another way to do this besides having this be Lighting without a skybox would be to have a bool value “CustomSkybox” set to false, and when it’s true, the skybox will be ignored.

A bonus feature to make this work better would be to make celestial bodies have a visibility between 0 and 1 instead of a bool value.

Done well, wherein the skybox is the gradient and the fog color blends in the distance, here’s what it would look like:

You want to move this to studio/client requests instead, no-one ever reads the main category and the rules state every request must be placed in a subcategory
