Yeah I do. That’s why I said it doesn’t work 100% the time and I wouldn’t recommend using it.
Yeah it really what form you want to kick.
Like… Change the game settings automaticly.
You can read the privacy policy.
I am not sure what you mean by this post.
I don’t think that would apply unless you save the data that they are under the age of 13 FYI.
It still technically violates COPPA which is punishable by up to a year in jail and up to a $43,280 fine.
Instead of making it kick them, you could just make it to where it checks if they’re 13, and if they arn’t 13, then it automatically sets to paintball mode, and they can’t change it.
COPPA says that you may not collect data on players under the age of 13, all you need to do is not save it in datastores or save it at all.
I agree, I just said this because it is what he wanted
Maybe just add in the settings a “add blood” then make a gui saying are you sure to put the gore mode on. That will solve all of the problems.
It’s still violating the law and you should not do it unless you want your account terminated and possibly worse.
I just think as long he doesn’t save the information about the players anywhere, he SHOULD be fine.
I agree, but if its “that” bad I don’t think that would work because kids will enable it anyway…but if its not that bad, then yeah.
Ok let me say this.
The game contains blood, and weapons will go into bodies, while other games use both of these and allow under 13 accounts, MY preference was to not.
At this point, I’m not going to do this and call off of blood/weapon throwing in the game, because the replies here have stated legal action, account moderation, etc.
At this time, the topic has turned into a discussion more than a scripting support.
By the way, some people have said I would “save info”, no.
It’s supposed to be a script that determines if the account is under 13 or not, and if they are they will be kicked from the game.
Not giving me their birthdate,
Not making the script collect data,
just kicking the player if the account is under 13, using some system that probably has to do with the chat filter.
The thing is though, I’m not doing this with the information of the replies, so you can go ahead and call off of this.
To be honest, the script doesn’t even have to see if the account is over/under 13, I can just make a warning, and it’ll say “This game contains gore, this is intended over 13” and they can enter numbers that if filtered they get kicked.
Again it should not violate COPPA unless you collect data on the child.
Before i was 13 i played phasmophobia and it was not really that bad. Plus 12 year olds will either be scared and think its cool or be scared and think its scary just put a warning at the start right when you join. That way people cant report it because the actually is a warning.
12 & 13 are not that far apart, I don’t think it would be that bad either way.
Yes that is true but if someone has like a phobia for blood or darkness there should just still be a warning.
What I mean tho is that just like when u go into the campaign of call of duty, it gives you a warning about what will happen. And if they click it, then at that point its who ever pressed the blood enabled i’d be the player fault.
I am aware, I agree. But kids will still enable it anyway no matter what.
