The very minimal documentation (Parallel Luau | Roblox Creator Documentation) for actors/parallel lua explains how you shouldn’t use too many actors, but it is preferred to use more actors than less actors (?)
Just kidding, but I think they mean unreasonable amounts. If you do something you feel is wrong, then that’s probably what they mean. They are mentioning “64 and more”, which most likely means that 128 and 256 is still reasonable.
If you have thousands I think you might (?) be going overboard, but if it feels reasonable, it usually is. Whenever there is a threshold lower than one might think it is often specified explicitly. I do actually think trial and error might be a good way find out.
