I’ve tried looking for a solution, but I couldn’t find anything, so I came here to post about it. My game has been taken down, and I’m forced to publish it at a new place. Now, if I do that, then everyone’s data will be gone, which is a pretty bad thing. Can I get the old data for all the players and set it to the new data? I’m not sure if something like this is even possible, but I thought I’d give it a chance.
transferring data that use Roblox’s datastore can only happen with games in the same universe. unfortunately, unless you used an external data-storing service, I don’t quite think it’s possible.
data transfers between different universes/places are something Roblox should really work on.
may I ask though, why was your game taken down? If it was a false positive on Roblox’s end, you should be able to appeal it.
I was making the game with one of my friends but we got into a little argument and we are not friends anymore. When I released the game he reported it because he made some of the things inside it. I already tried appealing and they said that they are not able to open the game back up even tho I removed the things that he made.
Regarding the data issue can’t I print out the data of the players in the old game, write them up, and set the new game’s data to that?
how many people are we talking about? you could probably do it if its not a large amount.
DMCA or something close to that? quite unfortunate. very sorry about that.
Yes it was DMCA.
The only reason I posted about this because we are only talking about 200 unique players. Which is not that much.
that’s a little petty… but anyways:
I believe you could manually write the est. 200 players’ data, but that is quite time-consuming. and since I don’t really know much about manually writing/viewing data, that’s basically a roadblock for me and I can’t really help further.
Ah I see, well thank you for your help tho!
