well this reallly depends on the style of your game but i would say that to add realistic recoil you should watch videos shooting the specific gun, and see how the recoils affects them and simulate that in your game. Animations can be make smooth by using linear animation (if im correct) and watching real footabe of the gun to try and replicate it. Camera movement can be quite hard so good luck
