How to increase a value everytime a part goes near you

Hello!
In bullet hell shoot em’ up games when a bullet goes near your hitbox it grants you a graze point which contributes to your score, and I want to achieve something like that. How can I achieve this?

I tried welding a sphere part that has a touched event and stuff but it’s kinda clunky in my opinion. I need something different.

Cant u just use magnitude to detect when its near?
