Should i even make a main menu for my game?

I feel like main menu’s are pretty important for games.

But i honestly don’t know if i should make one for mine.
I already have one that works, But theres so much code that needs a bunch of checks to make sure a specific player isnt in the menu, and it can lead to some issues…

For example, In a murder mystery gamemode, There could be like 3 people, What if 2 of them were trying to annoy the other person and stay in the menu so no one would be murderer or sheriff?

I feel like i should just remove my menu, It just blocks tons of features i want to add.
I’ll be thinking like: “Hmm, Maybe i should add thi-” Nope, i’d have to think of a way for this and that so it doesnt bother players in the menu.

A game i really enjoy called “Item Asylum” doesn’t have a main menu, And yet the game is still great.

What do you think? Should i add a main menu? Or no?

(sorry if this is the wrong catagory, I didn’t know which one to pick for it)

If you think a main menu fits into your game, then go for it.
It’s really up to you. If the main menu system is complicated and doesn’t let you add new features, then I would suggest you remove it.

It also matters what type of game you’re making. FPS games are much more likely to have a main menu compared to something like a tycoon.
