I am making a sailing game and trying to use the default terrain water, but the water or air resistance of the parts is making it much harder to calculate the correct forces to make my boat accelerate and decelerate how I want it to. It is also affecting the top speed of my boats.
Is there any way I can disable water friction or air friction?
You can make the Terrain water frictionless by changing the CustomPhysicalProperties just like a part, but it affects all terrain. I don’t think you can set the friction property of water terrain exclusively. You can use rays or invisible triggers to detect when a player is sailing on the water and change the properties locally.
As for the air, you can adjust friction amongst other properties of all BaseParts of the sailboat.
