Same, I actually do play that and made a fangame for it but let me stop “bragging”. I am a tower builder and have made a lot of towers. I will have to go back and replace everything! And I REALLY do not want to do that.

I actually kinda wanna see how much people quit, I really wonder how roblox reacts… I just hope roblox thinks about the people who only play roblox. Losing people who have roblox as their only game are in trouble. This update sucks and always will

i would be happy, this would be taking down the monopoly roblox has had for YEARS and finally roblox has to actually try
this is a similar situation to how EA has bought entire game franchises and how they in turn decreased in quality because there is no other option

I mean what’s the point of me staying here if all my existing projects will break and they continue to just keep us out of decisions like we’re some secondary concern? They seem to care more about investors rather than developers right now. They KNOW this will break millions of games.
Not just audio but all assets? I’m still kind of in shock Roblox made such a terrible decision.

Seriously, they used an Amazon review made by some random child as legitimate evidence in a lawsuit against a multi-billion dollar company. Funniest thing I’ve seen in a while.

Idk what a monopoly is but the funnier thing about what you said is how roblox is a monopoly. There actually IS a roblox monopoly board game
New update sucks. Because of the queue times, it now takes 10 hours for a sound to get verified while the AI is sorting through literal garbage of sounds.

So I’ve made a rain module yesterday and it have exactly 10 audios, if I reupload all of them then I need to wait 30 days to upload any audio again also been playing Roblox since 2015 and Roblox never gave any trust factor.
pls fix, I was working on alot of games and this update just made me give up.

they phrase it like roblox actively allows this stuff to happen without any HARD evidence which the court apparently holds to the highest standards

You’re right, that seems like some really bad evidence. They could be enjoying the APM catalog music other royalty free music on the platform. They didn’t say what artist or song they were enjoying. Wow.
Or maybe they were referring to the piano game where you play your own music.

There isn’t any hard evidence that Roblox allows this stuff, but there is clear evidence that Roblox has had more than enough warnings and wake up calls about copyrighted audio being allowed on their platform through the thousands of DMCA takedowns and cease and desist letters related to copyrighted audio being uploaded on their own platform, and several lawsuits related to the same thing, for them to actually work on a solution to this problem, such as a similar system to YouTube’s Content ID.
Roblox should’ve come up with something YEARS ago, and they are definitely in the wrong in this lawsuit. However, this does not give them the right to make such a disastrous and rushed update to their platform that doesn’t solve the problem, but rather hides it away to avoid more of those warnings and wake up calls that music corporations have been giving them for a very, very long time.

The only thing I can think of that would make this claim even remotely legitimate is if they provided at least 1,000 reviews talking about copyrighted music being good.

The thing that makes me mad is pretty much almost all music I like is copy righted like a theme from the 3rd spiderman trilogy. Atleast kevin macleord (I think thats his name) makes non copyrighted music
