Guess most people used up their 10 audio uploads…
I’m sure more than one staff member has seen all the replies. They’re just unable to do anything else because they have a very short timeframe to fix things because of the lawsuit. There’s no real options for them here.
They can add a few more 0’s to the audio upload limit. Should be as easy.
I wish they would, but given the… resounding silence by Roblox aside from clarification, I don’t expect changes.
Billion-dollar corporation. They can more than afford to pay for the lawsuit.
Yeah, but the amount the lawsuit was asking for was egregious if you consider the terms. They wanted each plaintiff paid some millions for each audio it seemed like. That would be a ridiculous amount for some kids playing audio.
You’re not the only one here, sadly.
I’m operating 3 games and I have hundreds of sounds for my vehicles. It might take me a year at this point to upload all the sounds I need.
At this point I’m thinking of shutting down my company, all over this small but crucial update that effects the majority of developers.
Well, this billion-dollar corporation can’t figure out how to upgrade their servers without them shutting down every week, so it makes sense that they’re doing this update instead of just paying the lawsuit.
What makes me furious is that roblox spends so much on virtual concerts for the licensing of music and the likeness of the creator.
Why not get the licensing of the music to be used on the platform? If we’re going for this metaverse thing, make it so the music that’s being uploaded without licensing by famous musicians like LNX, Tai Verdes, Ava Max, ETC, are licensed to be used. That solves the boombox dilemma if you can support the communiuty with these events that the majority of developers won’t go to.
So glad that even after developing on the platform for years and getting devforum access the thing that determines whether I can preserve the audios in my game is whether I want to pay you guys even more money for sounds I had for free. Genuinely the most unhelpful company I’ve ever encountered.
I tried Strofe.com. While it’s a bit challenging to find the exact thing you need, it honestly makes some great music and melodies, and with programs like FL Studio (or use LMMS or such if you can’t afford it) I can edit the midi/instruments very easily if needed.
I recommend giving it a try for those who come across this post.
Yes this is definitely the reason. Why would you think that an audio update would cause investors to sell? It’s childish.
I personally think the issue is not with the verification feature itself, but the way Roblox is utilizing it. Many developers do not have access to an ID, and there are too many privacy concerns with the feature, so it should be optional, not forced upon other users.
And tell me if this makes any sense to you: Roblox needs to see your first, middle, and last name, date of birth, gender, address, eye color, height, weight, and a selfie just to increase the amount of audios you can upload a month. No matter how reliable or trustworthy you are, you must give Roblox all that information in order to get 100 uploads a month instead of 10. That’s a bunch of baloney!
Roblox should instead use account creation date, moderation history, place visits, verified email and phone number status to determine the number of audios a player can upload. Oh, and you should be able to pay for more audios when your free audios run out.
Does the audio upload cap take place after this announcement. For example, I can only upload 10 audio files per month now. However, prior to this announcement releasing, I had uploaded 7 audios during the past month. Therefore, can I upload 10 more audios or only 3 more?
the timeline on getting the further features related to this is as aggressive as possible in this case.

they’re too busy being “aggressive” to get further “features” to us, please stop pushing them so hard !

so? are we not allowed to complain and type here 10k more replies? I can make fun of them all day, since my bank account is affected, not theirs
also they are able to fix the whole thing: buy the rights for music, it’s a core element of the metaverse, imagine your life surrounded by monstercat “music”
as I said, what metaverse are they building without real & good music?
What would the phone number have to do with anything?
Well it’s also bad because a little more then 90% of the audios on the audio tab will be private and that’ll ruin a lot of games.
Ah yes. Finally. I can stop using mommy’s cwedit cawd to buy audio.
roblox: is singing, by by this American pie.
the players: this will be the day that i die.
