Add paint.net to the forum filter

That solution is likely more viable than outright banning it; doing that would complicate things when they don’t need to be.

Actually paint.net was actually an online paint store to purchase paint from, they could have gone out of business. But if we add getpaint.net then I think we should add adobe.com to the list, since you can do video editing, and photoshopping and use it for making clothing, and what not. Sure it costs, but it’s just as useful as getpaint.net.

Not sure you’re understanding.

Clearly paint, net went out of business, but it looks to be re-bought.

What does adobe.com have to do with this?

Adobe.com literally is a Photo Editor / Photo Creator tool. I always use it for making decals, or clothing in Roblox.

I’m not talking about photo editors, I’m talking about the fact that paint, net is not a safe website.

Then why add the bad website paint.net to the filter? According to your title of this post.

It doesn’t point to the actual website to get the software. The website to get the software is getpaint.net

Yes I already know this, but I am referring to the title of his post.

Yeah, some websites can be easily misinterpreted for another, it’s best that some websites with similar domains to others get filtered.

paint.net is an exception because it is literally the name of the program. In other words, just talking about the image editor will accidentally link you to a domain purchasable by anyone.

I’m confused. Preventing paint.net from automatically hyperlinking causes more unnecessary problems than allowing paint.net to automatically link to an unrelated website?

Now you’re just confusing me. I specified that paint.net should hyperlink to getpaint.net, not entirely prevent it from hyperlinking.

It would be an issue if we outright banned the phrase because as you said:

Oh you’re talking about banning the phrase. I agree that would be bad. I thought that was too far fetched to be what OP actually meant, I assumed he just wanted the name to stop hyperlinking.

I never said that. (cc @ReturnedTrue)

I usually abbreviate it to PDN.

The JavaScript you posted isn’t malicious, it’s just minimised. It’s just webpack lol.

That’s not the only script on there. This is just one of them. Also, what about the analytics script (with no T&C?)

That is just to analyse traffic on their website for marketing purposes. Nothing bad.

?

There’s no ads on the website, and most websites have a “You agree to these” popup.

No, no, no. It is to look for potential domain buyers, not to give viruses. That is a business reselling domains, not a way to scam.

Hmm…

Well, it’s still kind of suspicious. I’m marking as a solution but leaving the poll open until we get some sort of official response.
