I’ve been coding in roblox lua since i was 9 or 8, I don’t remember but It’s kinda hard when you start out aswell as getting into advanced stuff.

I started learning programming at school in the 7th grade so I don’t think age really impacts your ability to learn coding. However, at school before we started coding, we learned the problem solving process, pseudocode and flow charts, and once you learn those key concepts it made coding way easier to learn and you develop a great foundation for programming, and years later today I still write pseudocode or use flow charts before developing a system. I would recommend you learn coding outside of roblox using just a compiler and a console, since roblox is still kind of advanced for beginners, it would be really good if you could find a mentor/teacher as well.
i learned the basics of lua back when i was about 11 or 12 years old, i didn’t really understand much of it because i didn’t set my mind to practicing or learning it. after a month of learning the basics of lua, i quit for about four years, and i recently just returned to learn RBXLua. the basics that i learned back when i was about 11-12 kicked in, and i was able to learn even more than i had expected to learn. the funny part is, i have never had an experience where age stopped me from learning anything. my problem was motivation and maturity, i think that’s some big barriers when it comes to learning and progressing. so i don’t really think there’s an age barrier. it just depends on how motivated you are. but in other terms, if you are having trouble on some sort of math issue, i really recommend stuff like desmos, mathisfun, and khanacademy. it will help you so much in life if you are wanting to work with mathematics.
As a fellow 8th grader, I know how you feel. Having age being a massive blockage from you doing what you want to learn can be so annoying. An important thing that I’ve learnt is to keep motivated. “You hit a wall, you push through it”
