my friend has a ginormous database on like every condo to watch them, their messages, the servers, etc, most of these are team create ones.
just delete chat and add communication wheel or whatever its called
you know its bad, you know they are bypassing your own gate that youre created, you know youre making harder for normal user and easier for bad actors
Did the book 1984 not warn us about something? it was literally made in 1949. this is crazy foreshadowing
We all know this is not needed, they only want your information. Collaboration on studio should NOT be behind an âAge Verificationâ.
Lets take a vote here, Whats your take. SHOULD ROBLOX STUDIO COLLABORATION NEED AGE VERIFICATION
- No, it is not needed, and never should be
- Yes, Its needed
Roblox has to stop shoving AI SLOP around the whole platform
When roblox went public a bunch of devs were celebrating. I was just scared of shit like this becoming the norm.
Wouldnât you know it, gotta maximise that shareholder return.
The MBAs have decreed the lawsuit liability is likely to become too expensive soon due to a lack of safety components on the platform.
Should we do something reasonable about it? Rehire mods? Get rid of sketchy ârpâ games that are just fronts for malicious activity?
No. The MBAs have decreed that will also be expensive!
I know! Lets just invade everyoneâs privacy, blame shift over to another company that facilitates communication between users, and make reporting the inevitable crap that comes out of this decision impossible because only children can see it.
Brilliant business strategy. Blame shifting is the linchpin of many âdisruptiveâ companies.
A tad evil though, but who cares about that? Line go up!
I had a suspicion it was like that. Didnât think it was that exact though.
In my opinion, these age checks feel more about appearances than real safety. I think a lot of other creators feel the same - itâs frustrating for anyone trying to collaborate. Roblox, just pack it up and admit that you guys are in the wrong.
This is absolutely intolerable, I donât wanât to give my personal data. Does Roblox even listen to its community?
I WILL NOT be giving my face to you guys in absolutely ANY circumstance, if you are having problems moderating your own platform, deal with it, donât throw them at your own community, jesus christ
i donât think Iâm going to give my face to a company thatâs proven throughout the years that they donât give a shit about user security and safety.
this is the equivalent of covering a pipeline burst with a band-aid.
Iâm dutch and I canât interact with 99% of the Roblox community due to the new system that yâall decided to implement early for us⌠can yâall fire the person who suggested locking chat away for only three countries during christmas
while not explicitly mentioned, i donât think the UN would vibe with this age check system at all since itâs very obviously a substitute for proper moderation
interesting. I think that that would work better as a seperate engine though unless these standalone games could be downloaded from the website.
Roblox potentially not following United Nations human rights guidelines was not exactly what I wanted as a Christmas present.
While itâs not explicitly mentioned that ROBLOX is doing anything wrong, itâs absolutely implied that the âUN human rights chiefâ does not âvibe with this age check system at all.â
To me it looks like society engineering
this definitely confirms my assumption that roblox is only doing this to combat lawsuits, usually if a bad update crashes the stock market roblox is immediately on the case since all they care about is money.
If they would be smart, they would divide Roblox to four separate products. One for toodlers, where games would be created by professionals and with behaviorists, would have contracts with teachers and could see how child behave in the camera. The next product would be for 7+, games could be developed by professional behaviorists and parents, third group: 13+ would be like it was before these changes, and Roblox adult, which would be for anyone. It would allow them to release their product in countries without fear it will be banned because of child safety. This is how it ends when you direct your product for kids.
What is the actual point? For chatâs, I could see the reason behind it somehow, even if I still disagree, but there is 0 point in why this is needed for studio at all. Literally 0.
