Amplify Your Experiences with New Music

Noticed that cover arts finally started to appear on the website e.g. as can be seen below charts.

All I can say is that it’s absolutely amazing!

Please tell me these apply to boomboxes and radios, I could finally report those god awful audios.

We need to be able to disable this in our games

When opening the Music Tab section, a significant performance degradation is detected, which can reach up to 1 second and occurs almost every second(60 frames). This causes rendering delays and slows down the response to player actions. My computer has sufficient performance to rule out hardware limitations.

Unfortunately, I cannot provide video evidence of this issue and cannot confirm whether it exists on other platforms. I assume that other developers have already reported this issue and would like to point out its presence in this post.

I DON’T WANT THIS.

How do I remove it?

same here, is there a way to disable this :((

Very curious if there is a way to disable this, as there won’t be any purpose in having this alongside other reports of performance drops.

Can we PLEASE get a way to disable this? I don’t think this is a necessary feature to include in every experience by default and the fact that we can’t turn it off is a real head-scratcher. Roblox really needs to release these sorts of things as developer modules such as the Social Interactions module or the Emote Bar module, both of which are arguably more placid than this feature and yet are not default in the client. There is an unimaginable amount of diversity across experiences on the platform and every discrete feature added to the client that we have no control over takes creativity away from the developer. If you want to encourage developers to thrive on the platform, they need to be confident there is a stable foundation to build upon. So please, let us disable this, consider if a client feature could be a developer module instead and promote those modules. Put them on the front page of the toolbox, even!
The feature itself seems to be working fine, though it’s redundant alongside the UI I’ve already made for this. Hope to see an update on this soon!

Nobody asked for this, and nobody wants this.

  • This is a vulnerability for the game, allowing built-in methods for stealing assets.
  • This causes performance issues.
  • This is a UX discrepancy, where if you had a playing GUI in-game, the Roblox built-in one will conflict and confuse players.

I can continue this list endlessly.

This feature is unwanted by many. Having it just popup without asking or any controls is effectively one of the worst ways to release a feature imaginable. Stop turning Roblox into a mobile game.

I have never disliked something more than this in a long time. I am so genuinely disgusted that no forethought was put into this, there isn’t even a feature to disable this.

I left a like on this announcement before, I enjoyed the September 23, 2024 update, but not the February 13, 2025 update. Unfortunately, I cannot remove my like.
This change is extremely undesirable.

i want it

it only shows you audio names and publishers that are available for everyone to use???

this is… a little bit of an overreaction. it makes sense people want the option to disable it, but… why??

With the latest version of this feature (you probably don’t have it as it’s a FFlag rollout), here are the following extreme annoyances.

  1. It not only shows a separate annoying popup every time I join a game, demanding me to open the new menu, the popup does not go away until I either press the X on it, or open the menu.
  2. It spams the “music change” popup for every new sound played, so if the player walks between speaker elements, its popup after popup.
  3. It cannot be disabled at all.

wow. thats actually a pretty stupid feature. the pop-ups sound like a nightmare

the non-FFlag version seems like a cool feature to me, though.

Please send the flag that disables ts…

Yeah, I’m aware, I phrased it wrong. It’s still crazy how in 100% of the games I play the popup just says “this music is from an unverified publisher!!!” or something like that, so much clutter :unamused:

FFlags are only on the client unfortunately, however if you still wish to use it:
The global flag is called " FFlagEnableSongbirdInChrome2" I believe. As for the versioning, I don’t know which one it is.

I regret to inform you that this flag no longer seems to work.

I also agree with everyone above that we NEED a way to disable this. It’s been almost two months since this was added… the ability to disable it really should’ve been shipped along with the feature.

That’s so unfortunate that it doesn’t work anymore. I really hate this feature with such a passion. I am so annoyed by this popup, I am so annoyed by it screaming about “unverified creators”, I am so annoyed at this literally leaking assets.

With you all the way. This feature is completely unnecessary. If anything, such a feature is something that should be ENABLED by the developer if they WANT to, unlike being ON by default and leaving us with no way to disable it. It serves as a constant annoyance and the only way I see adding music to my game now that this feature rolled out is actually composing the tracks myself, and even then this feature still would put a spoke in my wheel.

Who even asked for such a thing? Roblox developers have made custom "Now Playing: " GUI’s for years. Is this to somehow satisfy APM Music and the likes? If so, what is the point of the audio toolbox anymore? Just roll out a new update where music is copyrighted or let us use it the way we have used it forever: 1. A track is uploaded to roblox to be used in games. 2. The games use it. Simple.

I have a custom music solution in my game, and I am wondering is there any way to disable this Gui at all?

Hello???

Let me disable this stupid crap othewise I’m going to be disabling access to the CoreGui entirely by using a custom coded cursor while the real hidden one never leaves the center of the screen.

Yoooo, how do I disable this completely? This is just an annoying feature.
