People have been boosting my guild more recently, so I wanted to give out rewards - one being an in-game cosmetic. The issue is I have no clue if this will get my game moderated or taken down due to it being a direct reference to server boosting. Is this allowed? And if it isn’t, are in-game booster rewards still allowed?
You’re allowed to make references to external allowed sites to the correct players using PolicyService. Rewarding players for boosting your server is allowed, but if the Nitro boost logo being a Discord reference is a concern, you could probably use the same service to change the logo to something else. However for me that is overkill, or maybe go for a different logo that may still represent the same thing.
Copyright is granted the moment a work of IP is made. Do you mean if it’s registered? I’d assume the jewel is either proprietary (self-made by their design team), open source (e.g Twemoji is open source), or they otherwise have obtained permission to use it. Discord would probably get in trouble otherwise.
It’s not allowed. Mentioning Discord anywhere outside of the social links isn’t allowed (despite the outrageous amount of groups and games that do it) and connecting off-site purchases to Roblox isn’t allowed either. You can include the Nitro symbol in the game however, but you aren’t allowed to have server booster rewards.
Besides, it’s kinda a scummy thing to do anyway (it’s on par with p2w/paid only items and “like the game for a free item”, because it is exactly those things. Asking for likes for free items also isn’t allowed either.)
It’s allowed now. Has been for a while too.
Nitro is also not free. The money players spend on Nitro all goes to Discord – the developer doesn’t get any money from it. Something that would indeed not be allowed is for example rewarding players for subscribing to your Patreon, since you would actually get the money yet there is no guarantee the player actually gets anything.
