BSWW: Staff Expectations

This document is useful mainly for Staff and those who want to be Staff, so that you know the expectations and requirements of all members of Staff.

Headmaster

  • Expected to look after and maintain peace amongst the Staff Team.
  • Expected to do a sufficient amount of work during the Sorting Period such as: marking Sorting Quizzes, giving Staff Members a role for the day and so on.
  • Expected to work with Head of Houses and the Deputy Headmaster to hire new potential staff members.
  • Hire new Head of Houses from existing Staff Members
    • Presuming existing Staff Members meet the requirements to become a Head of House.
  • Keeping up with Discord Roles.

Deputy Headmaster

  • Expected to look after and maintain peace amongst the Staff Team, similar to the Headmaster.
  • Expected to do a sufficient amount of work during the Sorting Period such as: marking Sorting Quizzes and ensuring the Sorting Hat process is smooth.
  • Expected to act as an interim Headmaster if the Headmaster is not able to attend or there is a time when there is no current Headmaster

Head of House

  • Discipline students who are problematic.
    • This may be: expulsion, suspension, detention or point removal depending on the severity of their behaviour.
  • They can choose two Prefects from Second Year or above, the gender of these Prefects does not matter.
  • They will task their Quidditch Captain with creating a Quidditch Team.
  • They will assist in looking at new Staff Applications but will not have a final vote.

Castle Staff

  • Expected to turn up to sessions and stay there when possible. If unable to, they MUST provide a reason before the session begins otherwise a strike will be given.
    • 3 strikes results in being fired from the Staff Team.
  • They MUST report any case of FRP to a higher rank than them, so a Head of House, Deputy Headmaster or Headmaster.
  • They are expected to substitute classes when other Professors are unable to make it, presuming they understand the content of the subject they choose to cover.
  • They must follow the Points Guidelines, including the rule referring to 75 points per session only.
  • They are expected to behave professionally as they represent BSWW’s higher ranks.
  • They are expected to set an example regarding RP. This means: do not FRP, do not meta-RP, do not wear illogical clothing during RP etc.

Failure to comply with these rules will result in possible removal from the Staff Team or any of the additional positions that a Staff Member holds. There are no steps to follow when removing someone from their position, it depends on the severity and the decision of superiors: it could be anything from a warning to an immediate removal. Contradicting your compliance with these rules by saying you will follow them but then suggesting otherwise is just as bad as breaking them.
