[Beta] Transfer Experiences to Groups & Track Group Activity

This is a great update! Do you plan on including transfers from group to group and group to player?

Great initiative to make this feature freely available for everyone and reimburse those who paid for it.

I hope this transfer request also works vice versa for situations where a group splits up, but one person is still interested in maintaining a game indipendently.

will we be able to switch up a group game to a user game as well?

I transferred one experience and it worked. Then I tried to transfer a second experience to the same group, it failed (I did not cancel it), and now I see the following message:

Requested recently
You recently sent a request to this group that was denied or cancelled. Please try again later.

Do you have to wait some time before transferring a second experience to the same group (like the 30 day wait for transferring the same experience), or was the failure just a bug?

no for now it can not be transferred from a group to group

how did you transferred your assets like animations ?

I just reuploaded them manually because I didn’t have that many.

It would be great if an experience’s Activity Tracker could also have optional push notifications or emails in one way or another. Or possibly also even AI update-history summaries?

I’ve dealt with malicious actors who’ve put backdoor script injections (git pulls at runtime) resulting in tens of thousands of US dollars in damages.

Just a small thing that could be worth-while, seeing names where they don’t belong can be a red flag for any developer.

I would love to see a Community to Community Experience Transfer.

It would be easier to transfer experiences from Community A to Community B

This is especially good for various groups like Mil-Sims and Ro-Nations.

Well in that case they’d have the ability to steal your game anyway. This would just make it a little easier since it would retain data stores, badges, etc.

I don’t really see a case in where it changes much. The best course of action is to probably just make sure your account is secured in all areas possible.

do you know how i can find all the private assets in my game to reupload them ?

If you’re not interested in doing the heavy lifting of migrating audio and animation assets, and you’re a Rojo user, try my tool Asphalt!

If you had to transfer your experience today, all you’d have to do is re-sync, rather than the extremely tedious process and potentially insecure process that Roblox has documented.

P.S. @peraldon when can we expect an Open Cloud assets API to upload animations?

gotta be one of the best updates of the year. this is actually so good and better allows people to buy games easier since they can just transfer the game if its on someone’s profile. Can’t wait for group to group transfers

Real quick does this transfer all the badges you had on the project to the new one? Because that would be convenient!

Thanks in advance!

It most certainly does! All of your developer products (ie Game Passes, Badges etc) will fully persist through the transfer.

Thanks for your feedback! This is also something we want to polish up as well - right there with you.

For what it’s worth to the second piece, you can reduce downtime by calling either A or B animation ID with a helper script so it seamlessly continues to work after the transfer is complete. We have some documentation to help out with this.

PLEASE tell me this process has 2FA like group payouts. If not, that is a MAJOR oversight and security issue.

I’ve been waiting for this! Thank you _jed

Thanks! Unfortunately this doesn’t really apply as I store several animations right in the datamodel.

Its unfortunate that I don’t get any signal on what’s going to break before it does. My game is decently large.
