Boundaries of in-game rewards

After playing a bunch of different games (or “experiences”), I’ve always noticed this trend of receiving some sort of in-game reward ranging from liking and favoriting the game, joining the group, or even boosting their discord server.

Of course some of these are definitely against the ToS, but that led me to ask the question, “What type of requirement for an in-game reward is actually allowed without any of them breaking the rules?”

I’d like to know your input on this and what type of creative requirements or promos you think is allowed that are within the boundaries of Roblox’s ToS.

If i remember correctly you can get in big trouble for promoting discord or adding discord links into your game favoriting the game and joining the group is allowed though

I reclon everything related to the Roblox platform that Roblox provides a method for is probably ok, idk tho. For example how they provide Player:IsInGroup() and Player:GetRankInGroup().

You could probably find more info in the ToS. I just guessed, though.

I’m certain it is safe to reward players for being a part of your group. I’m unsure about others.

You can’t detect likes. You can detect favorites with the API, but not likes.

I don’t think it’s prohibited.

its for sure prohibited to add discord links to your game. You will get in big trouble for it

Source? Anything in the Community Standards about this?

Are you going to respond or did they answer your question?

what you can do, however, is link your discord on your game page for eligible users over 13 (depending on region) through the Social Links section. then you can use PolicyService to check if the user is eligible to see Discord references and direct them to your game page through a GUI ingame if they are.
