Browsing the forum when Roblox is down is painful

but I think that having it locked down or having a heave slowmode on it is a bit extreme for more experienced users like me, and many others.

Many people (again, like myself) dont have Regular and at the moment cant get it, so that would be locking us out of the forums for long periods, while regulars have access.

Not really a big problem I don’t think.

you can’t really use studio during the outage either way.

Plus, you can always talk about development on Discord or something while the forum is down.

It’s not too hard to see those posts, and just scroll past it or mute it, is it?
No, it’s not. If it’s a huge issue, just mute the topic and move on.

This isn’t scalable (nobody has the bandwidth to mute every individual spam topic), and by ignoring the problem we allow for the current one to worsen, or even allow new problems to surge.

If it’s really that big of an issue, then mute #development-discussion, the place where the most spam happens, then just mute the category until the problem is fixed.
A different can of worms is “Make development discussion regular only!!!1!!”
I dont support that, because then again it’s currently impossible to get regular.

Then what is the point of a category meant for developers being on the forum if it should be muted? That seems like a bandaid, not an actual solution. Moderation would still receive flags from that category, which would be drastically reduced if the forum did go into slow/read-only mode.

Perhaps it is comments like these that further encourage this behavior…
