I haven’t found the fix. I’m pretty sure this bug made me quit developing this game lol
But I definitely think it could’ve been something I overlooked like an invisible GUI object on top of the button like walmartgamchair said. It’s been two years and I’ve gotten a lot better at stuff so who knows what happened.
Just opened up the game again and tried it out. It gets through every step necessary and finds the button but can’t seem to know when inputs to the button happen. There aren’t any GUI objects above the button, and I’ve also tried making the button have a high ZIndex.
I strongly recommend rewriting this code. It appears to be heavily hardcoded, and modifying hardcoded elements is generally not advisable.
Yeah I’d agree that’s the problem. This was definitely not the right way to go about making a tutorial, there are definitely much easier ways to code it.
Even though I’m not gonna come back to this project and try to fix and complete it, I’ll take this into consideration with future projects.
I appreciate your awareness of the concerns surrounding hardcoding, as it can indeed be a significant issue. It seems that there hasn’t been much attention given to this particular topic or proactive efforts made to address it, especially considering it happened two years ago. However, I can see that there may be differing perspectives on this matter.
