Can I make particles from ParticleEmitter disappear aftter coming into contact with a part?

The topic is exactly what the title says. I have made a rain module that showers the world with rain particles but I want them to stop (disappear) when they hit an object, because otherwise they go through stuff and inside buildings and its generally really messy.

Did a quick search of the forums using the term ‘collideable particles’ which gave a few good results:

I suppose thats a solution but I don’t want them to collide, I want them to faze out (become transparent) after going through the ground (or any part)
