I have run into a problem where in blender the object I imported (a roblox hat) shows up black and also appears that way in the render.
-
In blender the object appears black and not with the texture.

Here is the link to the hat: Cartoony Santa - Roblox
Could anyone help me?

You have to enable backface culling

I’m fairly new to blender, not sure what that means. Could you provide a photo?

Actually, I don’t got it. When I render the image it still appears black, after enabling backface culling.

Maybe the image texture isn’t synced…?

Why are you using 2.79 and not 2.8?
is it an obj file with an mtl file accompanying it?
also you might not be in preview/rendered view (not sure how 2.79 works)
for some roblox items blender just cannot find its texture. sorry but its same with the bunny ears. That would be my only explication

I personally like 2.79 better.
