Please don’t rename Friends to Connections and please stop using corporate words.
There have been occasions where Roblox actually responded to backlash. So let’s keep up the pressure and not stop until Friends are restored.
“Connections” is used in apps such as LinkedIn, LinkedIn is made for the business community. Now Roblox is using Connections, but Roblox is made for playing games with FRIENDS. Huh??? In the real world, our friends are NOT our “connections”. Roblox is not a business community. I’m quite disappointed with this update. BUT, like ‘extremelypassionate’ said, not everyone is your friend on Roblox. What WOULD be nice, is labelling your friends. Such as ‘Friends’, ‘Best Friends’, etc.
I do agree, but most Roblox players are people playing games. It’s true for developers and companies, but not for the majority of the playerbase. I know for a fact most of my “connections” are friends and family, except for the people I friendedconnected with during the time this topic was a memeland
CC @Microwave_Toothpaste, + many other people. I’ve got a hint for why your posts were deleted: it’s because you are being disrespectful and throwing garbage everywhere. Some of you literally posting it for hours straight, go outside. If people have criticism, all of you can share it constructively without making up personal attacks and burying other opinions under legions of memes and shitposts. this is where i disagree though; roblox removed that forum and now there’s nowhere for general forum talk. Whether roblox likes it or not, they’ve turned this into a pseudo general forum. I might not agree with everything people meme about, but I do think Roblox is at fault there. (and yes I do know why those forums were removed; i just think removing them entirely was a bit extreme, they could’ve just gave it a more sensitive filter. idk too well though, wasn’t very active there when it was deleted so I could be wrong)
One of the worst changes Roblox has decided to release. It’s been going downhill for a while yet I am still surprised that they come up with consistently “the worst update” every month. It’s not a metaverse. It’s not Instagram. It’s NOT a dating site. It is a gaming platform for children aged 9-12 and I will never agree with the disgusting direction you’re taking it in.

You are only as good as your worst post in a 1000+ reply thread. Your concerns about notifications and spam and keeping up appearances are also baseless, sorry. What you saw is just the way the forum software works. This is a huge thread and things can’t always be done clean.
Treat this place more respectfully than the public forum and nobody cares whether you’re a developer or a player. Just say your piece and move on.
Connections? Seriously? Like everyone has said, this is a gaming platform, not some business website. I really hate the direction that Roblox is going at the moment, including these ridiculous name changes that make no sense at all.
Once again, Roblox has failed miserably.

This is such an absurd update. I thought Roblox was a gaming platform. Why are we making this a social media platform? Changing friends to “connections” is just completely unnecessary.

i’m fully convinced they’ve gone a cut above and replaced their staff with ai crap as well, no functioning brain would think replacing friends with something as soulless as “connections” would ever go down well, and how can i trust you to estimate people’s age when you can’t even differentiate racial slurs and casual banter in vc

They’re mostly upset about the rebranding of friends to connections, i do agree some parts of it are good but more soulless corporate like branding isnt what we have ever wanted
(also the fact that you’ve attended RDC more than once and you’re replying to a post about RDC does not help)
