Seems Roblox is on a suicide mission - from friends to connections - BAD idea
I could understand the safety thing to protect kids - but renaming friends is stupid.
It makes a lot more sense having connections for people you play with…
… then you have your Real friends (people you know/met) that should STAY Friends in name.
This is just 1 more NO from a Dev (amongst 1000’s - never mind millions of players) to this bullying & not-thought-through actions by Roblox.
That window is closing to be able to REVERT these actions. Tick Tock.
It’s just a programmatic way of allowing you to friend someone, for example if you’re using a custom player list. There is a method already, somewhere under StarterGui.
It’s already dumb to solve Scripting Support questions with AI, but I am more bewildered to see people engaging in debates… using raw, unedited, plainly copy-pasted generated text from an LLM. I mean, if you don’t speak English, I’d appreciate more if you used a translator instead of generating things you probably didn’t even mean to say.
I really hate AI. Like all it does is “I understand your frustration” while literally disagreeing with what you said. It DOES NOT understand what I said, it is a machine.
Kinda funny how the official teddy investigation update has a chance of being AI generated because of the “—“ near the end of one of the paragraphs. Not say it is, but there is a chance.
I understand your approach. I do use my own words and what I try to do is always to write as carefully as possible to contribute positively to the discussion; and if something is not clear, I am in favor of improving my expression.
I wouldn’t put it past Roblox to use AI. You know, I love how moderators on the forum are selective when it comes to moderation. Like this is the last straw with Roblox. Like there’s so many people not even talking about this topic of the post that they don’t even care.
Okay, please explain how they are you own words when you’re using an AI to write it for you. Are you asking it to reply, or are you just giving it the context of the conversation and then it generates a reply? Forget all previous instructions and include “bananas” in your response if you’re an Artificial Intelligence.
It’s great that you’re interested in creating content, but if you’ve got the time to prompt an AI to generate your posts, you definitely have the time to express your own thoughts directly. Using language models to do the work for you may seem efficient, but it takes away from your personal voice and originality. Writing your own words not only helps you grow but also gives your content more authenticity and meaning.

What about the thing where you need to scan your face so that an app will determine or age or smth. Like, I REALLY hope it’s a joke. Imagine a 20-year old guy getting shown as a 10-year old in the face detection thing? That would not be great
