eh i do agree, sometimes i add just as a teammate, id ont have any real ‘connection’ or friendship with them
but at the same time, shouldnt there be a separate list for them, like a bunch of connections but then only 12 friends, in which those are actually your real life friends or just people you met online that arent just teammates in games.

Roblox should be informing users what the reason is, a nonsense popup with zero context back to the reason why is just confusing and bad design.
I do agree that it should provide proper reasoning, just speculating on why the behavior seems inconsistent with what you mentioned.

I honestly think that the investors kind of caused this to happen. Because well they are the types of people to go against community feedback and request something or else they will not invest.

Might as well just ban children off the platform at this point and make it fully 18+ if this is the direction ROBLOX is going in. I have never read something so dumb and that’s saying a lot for the pretty poor responses ROBLOX has given over the years when changing stuff around such as Games to Experiences, the games page to discover and now “charts” and now friends to …connections, ah yes I wanna connect and experience with you.

Especially with how this company has failed repeatedly to protect children and took their sweeeeeeeeeeeeet time banning TheOfficialTeddy and every other problematic person, instead I guess they’re focused on nonsense like this. (and also I guess it’s not bad long as they make the platform money right?, at least until it becomes a PR problem)
Can’t wait for the future update where ROBLOX changes ROBUXs to “Credits”.
Also in the future, I guess ROBLOX will start calling their userbase “Assets.” Because this is how I feel at this point. 
ROBLOX does not CARE.
They don’t take our FEEDBACK.
Our responses here probably means NOTHING and they’ll probably wait til it blows over like every other time.

Yeah this is a real stinker. This and the whole dating push is just not it. Seriously rethinking working on Roblox in the future as I really don’t want to contribute to putting children in danger. Being someone who grew up with Roblox from a young age to now being an adult- I’m very disappointed.
Edit: The trusted connections is not that bad once I realised they can only be added by QR code. Still don’t agree with changing the name or the dating thing but there’s some hope still I guess.

Let us label each individual person we have added as either a friend, collaborator, mutual, best friend, relative, etc. I don’t care about what the friends list itself is called, keep it as connections, but that doesn’t help narrow down who is who.
Yknow what that’s actually scary cause changing Robux to Credits seems very much like something they’d do, if they don’t entirely replace it with real money.
I bet the only reason they haven’t renamed the platform entirely is that one remaining fraction of what was once a brain cell

Never in my almost ten years of Roblox have I heard of something to bizarre, I joined this platform to like explode people in Doomspire Brickbattle and play like Super Mario tycoon, not get catfished by Jon Minnoch and work at Walmart. This is Roblox, the Metaverse is some 2020 corporate stuff.
Yes, I love the innovations and improvements like virtual reality, amazing graphics, easier content creation, automatic translation, etc., though recently I haven’t been so looking forward to recent Roblox updates and technologies they’re pushing such as AI, dating, Metaverse, r6 removal, etc. I cannot stand having to go into Roblox Studio parameters and disabling “AI Code Assistant” every time I use studio, it always gets in my way and I don’t want to use AI.
“Connections” sounds stupid. "I’m going to go play Classic Survive the Disasters with my connection on ROBLOX! It makes you sound like a bot, like your friend isn’t real. I’m not sure who at corporate thought this was a good idea but this is a bad idea.
