NOTES
The Halloween update is now out! A handful of new limited-time items have been added to the shop alongside returning items from last year! This year’s event track is Laboratory Lockdown, one of G.A.T.E. Laboratories’ private facilities that is in the middle of a containment breach. Completing this track alive will award you with the “Abyss Hunter” skin for Psycho!
Don’t forget, today is also the last day of the Summer event! Throughout the day, both events will run alongside each other, though the Summer content will be removed tomorrow in a patch. This is your last chance to get the new items and to complete the Airport track if you haven’t already!
The Halloween event will be removed on November 29th, 2024.
Progress Report
Following our previous post announcing that a campaign for Highway will be entering development, I’d like to explain a bit more about it and share the design for the campaign’s boss, the Police Chief!
Starting with the main boss himself, the Police Chief is an honest no nonsense cop. Many decades ago during his younger years, he took point on a raid against D.T.T. that went so horribly bad, he had lost his arm at the hands of a younger C. Allition. Because of this incident, aside from wanting to uphold the law, the Chief also has a personal vendetta against D.T.T.
The fight itself will contain a unique gimmick where the Chief will be able to move locations at will. He’ll start off on his own vehicle, but with the help of a police chopper following him around throughout the fight, he is able to grab onto the chopper and choose to attack from there, board the train, or go back onto his own vehicle. He sports a different moveset for each part he’s on with his boarded moves in particular primarily consisting of grappling attacks. He may be old, but most definitely didn’t get out of shape!
The campaign itself will centralize around a star system that ranges from 0 - 5. While there is no stars (which’ll be possible in the first 2 waves), the track’s generic enemies spawn like normal. Once a single star is obtained, regular police enemies will begin to spawn instead. The power of these enemies increase as more stars are obtained with the SWAT coming out at 3 stars and the military coming out at the max. Stars gradually increase if one of the campaign’s special enemies is left alive, but the level will decrease by one each wave.
