Devforum Crashed on PC Platform. The site cannot be accessed

Hello,
I cannot access Devforum on PC. That’s why I’m writing this bug report from my phone. here are the repro details.

Issue Start Date: 07.15.2022 - 01:20 for GMT+3
Issue Effect: High (Unable to login to the forum.)

Issue Frequency: Always

ADDITIONAL NOTES: There is no problem with my internet. I tried the following steps over and over again.

  • Logging out and re-entering Roblox
  • Restart Devforum
  • Restarting the browser
  • Restarting the computer

I also get a “Not Safe” warning.
I wasn’t sure if it was maintained on Devforum.

If you could provide more details like the requests’ status codes that you can find in the network tab of the dev tools that may be useful to the engineers to find out where the problem is occuring (obviously don’t show any sensitive information publicly), also you didn’t really provide a real repro.

Could you be more specific? What does “crash” mean in this context?

The screenshot just shows a functional forum page, so it doesn’t really help. Are you having issues with the login? Could you take a video of the login process?

I don’t have my computer with me right now. But I can tell you the steps.

  • Go to devforum.roblox.com.
    • Login to Devforum.
  • The site crashes when you try to login and click the login button. (only white screen visible)

I will try to provide the video when my computer is with me.

What browser + version are you using?

Do you have any browser extensions that may be interfering? (ad blockers or other extensions that tamper with site contents)

Could you DM me the URL bar contents for the white screen page? Also would be great if you could include a screenshot of the network console tab of your browser to see which web requests failed.

If you mean a “Your connection isn’t private” error, maybe your computer’s clock isn’t set to the right time? That may cause a “Not safe” warning, if it thinks the SSL is out of date. Also try clearing your browser cache.

I am able to log into the DevForum with no problem

Thanks for the additional details over DMs. It looks like you’re on http://devforum.roblox.com/ (note HTTP) instead of HTTPS for some reason.

Does it work when you navigate to the secure domain? (https://devforum.roblox.com/)

I will relay the feedback to internal teams to figure out why http://devforum.roblox.com/ is not automatically forwarded to https://devforum.roblox.com/.

That is strange, for me it does link automatically to https://

It redirects when you are already logged into the forum, but not when you are logged out like the first poster here.

It still does redirect me to https:// even when I’m logged out.

Edit: Maybe it’s because I am on an Apple Device?

I also want to add:
It automatically redirects to http://devforum.roblox.com when logging into Devforum. (When I enter via https://devforum.roblox.com)
Normally this shouldn’t happen.

If the problem persists or if there is any improvement, I will inform you.

We’ll work on fixing the automatic redirection from http → https. We’ll update here once it is restored. Thanks again for the report and providing the video in DMs!

We made a configuration change on our end to correct the forwarding of HTTP traffic to HTTPS. Should be all set now!
