We programmers take for granted how easily we can automate simple repetitive tasks. Giving non programmers that capacity is awesome! I for one got into game development because I like making games, not because I like going through 500 assets and switching all the first letters in the names to be capitalized. Those of you that are scared of automation and better tooling should perhaps contemplate why you’re here.
Finally, now I don’t have to write scripts to randomise stuff! Thanks!
This is so useful if u have to select a lot of objects that you need to delete!
There are different teams making different features, I dont think its that big of a deal.
i didnt say that… roblox is probably going to realize nobody really cares eventually and its not worth it to burn money on anymore and it won’t be a thing. assistant/code assist has never really been useful (refer to: Code Assist Beta: AI powered code completion - #5 by pyxfluff) and i doubt that’ll change any time soon
I’ve already used this five dozen times in the last week to automate a ton of accessory setup for creature customization. Stuff like bulk renaming, aligning attachments, putting things into a specific folder structure, setting up metadata, etc. This is an uber powerful feature and an outstanding application of AI in our context. Love this!
The AI coding assistant had a buggy release, yeah, but if you’ve tried it recently, it’s come a long way and has improved a lot since a year ago. Using it nowadays, it’s actually somewhat useful
the assistant will soon start training off of existing code in the roblox ecosystem, github copilot wasn’t successful at first but it was trained 1000s of repositories making one of the best assistants out there
we’re not “burning money” here, we are using it to improve extremely helpful tools for creators as many have expressed in this thread
This is a very immature response; the engineers behind this are also human beings – if you want to criticize something, then at least try doing it constructively.
I’m talking about selecting all the objects with a specific name and pressing the delete button.
The point of this post is to show how an AI can speed up the process of selecting items and modifying them. Yes there is a delete button, but if you want to delete only trees that are red for example you can do that quickly with this AI instead of manually going through all your models or coding your own command. It’s for ease of use, what’s wrong with giving developers more efficiency?
I think this is actually a good use for AI, unlike the ugly AI-generated avatars we saw not to long ago.
“Get with the times, old man.” The future is coming whether you get over your anti AI knee-jerk nonsense or not. Same goes for every other user parroting fear mongering garbage from users with no imagination and catastrophizing tendencies.

This tech is exactly what we want and need and is the perfect application of AI in its current form. There are plenty of tools already available to opt out a lot of the content you care about, and otherwise if you choose not to participate, you are free to leave while the platform accelerates without you. The bottom line is that this tech will proceed no matter what, there is no sense in screaming and crying. The only thing to do is steer it in the right direction.
As long as all this new features are for basic systems just to consume less time while making a game, im cool with it.
If it goes beyond that, being able to make a full game with just AI takes the essence from being a Game Developer.
Please make this disabled by default as Team Create permissions, AND or make this a permission that only the owner of a Roblox Studio session is able to activate. I’m already thinking the horrible implications of Rebellious developers doing on Roblox games just by “Hey Chat GPT, Nuke everything” On Roblox Studio.
Please stop Integrating AI into everything, We don’t want it.
Right click workspace, select children, delete.
You don’t need an AI to delete your game. Stop catastrophizing.
i don’t think ai stealing code is a positive thing… opt-in by default is pretty miserable bc lots of people arent privacy conscious they’re just mindlessly contributing to this thing (think the people who click cookie consent banners’ “accept” button without thinking). also the average skill level of somebody programming on github is way higher than somebody who makes roblox code (especially if it’s opt-out because kids who dont know a whole lot will stay in and more skilled people will likely have opted out already)
eventually i see roblox making you pay in some way for ai (like like what samsung is doing with their “galaxy ai”) but that’s just my thoughts
These are just tiny sidetasks that the ai does nobody actually codes these.
I’m pretty sure there is a way to already do that, you can type out a specific name in the explorer window and everything with that name will show up.
There is also a short cut to quickly select objects and then you can simply delete them.
Feel like it would be quicker to just do that instead of using the AI.
Even though I’m not fond of the many recent AI features Roblox has put out, this one I think deserves the praise. It actually makes your life significantly easier if you know how to use it well. It’s a great update, and I hope with new updates, it even improves further. Some actions are quite repetitive and Assistant making it easier for us is great. Thanks team!
