a two weeks ago I have been working a bit on my “retro” project, trying to replicate a futuristic, modern, retro, chaotic but beautiful world (I am horrible at explaining btw).
Here you have some of my progress which includes:
Dynamic text boxes
Animated Proximityprompt (I don’t know how to describe it)
Retro lighting
Inactivity animation
Backpack space limiter
etc
any opinions?
-ProximityPrompts:
-Inactive Animation & lighting:
-DialogueText (with billboardgui)
-Backpack limiter (the text looks badly scaled because I recorded it in roblox studio)
i’m not sure if that white highlight is distance based or if it has a slow fade, but i think it would look better with a faster fade and higher transparency
the dialog text looks weird when being resized
you could probably try a typing effect with AutomaticSize to fix it
also the text would look better if it was aligned on Y
i noticed you can have multiple prompts at once (i’m assuming this is a bug)
the animation is pretty flat (i’m not an animator so i can’t really give proper feedback)
some of the things i said are just my opinion so don’t feel obligated to make any changes.
you could tell that the project is new, but the dialog and prompt design told a lot; i really like where this is going
For the proximity prompt you need really ought to have some killer audio to take it to the next level. Probably have a rising, high pitched sound while you are holding the button to give suspense. And then give a nice ding when the prompt was completed
I’ve made a lot of progress with other things but then I’ll upload them to devforum, in fact I just uploaded a new post if you want to see it and thanks for giving me suggestions ;),
