Recently I commissioned a builder to create the map for my game. Now I’m currently in a debate with myself if the game should be more explorative instead of how basic it is currently. I intended the game to stand out, but as deadlines reach closer and budget getting lower, I don’t know if I should just stick with it out pump out something to hire a builder and make the map and feel more unique.
This game map looks awesome! It looks very basic though, you should add some bushes and rocks for decoration. Other than that, it’s good! How long did it take for you to make this map?
The map was commissioned, I sent them the layout and it was ready in 24-48 hrs
This map looks very nice! However, as you mentioned it is very basic. I would definitely give some darker colors so they’re easier on the eyes, make it more explorative, add more areas, make the buildings different. This would very likely hurt your budget because of the buildings i suggested but if not that, change the colors of the buildings up a bit (e.g. take one building and add some banners, each building would be the same but different banner colours or icons), add like a statue in the center. Use rocks, bushes, possibly even more types of trees.
Good luck on your game though, hopefully i helped.
It’s low poly and basic, I agree. But you could add small details that wouldn’t hurt your budget much. Rocks, a well, benches, and bushes are good decorations/add-ons to make it a bit more complex. Though, nowadays things are more simple because of Grow a Garden and Steal a Brainrot. Meaning the standards are not that high for maps.
