I have been doing a bunch of updates and bug fixes on my game, and I am going to put it up for beta testing soon! So I am wondering, what do you think of it so far? What do you see that stands out, like/don’t like, think I should change, etc… I would love to get feedback from everyone! Feel free to be as straight forward as you want, it won’t bother me, the feedback on how it is bad a part of it is, is more helpful than how good it is. So, hit me with it, what can you tell me?
I’ve seen this concept a million times before. It looks fine, I guess, but it’s not original whatsoever.
Buildings look weird. They have no entrance and the windows shouldn’t be sticking out of the buildings. Trees also look kind of weird and I think a simple, low poly tree made in Blender would look much better.
UI moves way too slowly. It takes almost a second to stop moving and allow you to interact with it, and it the case of the play button takes about 2 or 3 seconds to appear and another 2 seconds to leave. It’s aggravating when you just want to play the game. Speed it up or just make in appear instead of sliding in from the sides. It’s also not the most visually appealing.
Shop button is too close to the jump button, to the point where it’s clipping in. Not appealing and you can accidentally press it if you click the jump button too low.
There’s also just a lot of weird nitpicks I have. Why can you vote for a race if you can’t participate in it? Why does the game catfish you by telling you that you can’t join the race after flashing a bright bred button in your face?
Awesome feedback my friend! Yes I definitely agree the building is TERRIBLE, but yeah I need to hire somebody or figure out something else, it needs some improvement for sure. I have it on my list to fix the shop ui clipping the jump button, but could you tell me which ui moves to slow? Do you mean the vote and race result frames?
Edit: Oh ok I can look into changing the play button.
Maps are also kind of boring and empty. They should be made much tighter, and have more hazards. They should also have better props and and theming such. For example, crystal caverns sounds like a really cool idea but is bottlenecked by just how boring and wide-open it is. Imagine if the caverns being really small and tight, or if there was a second where you raced in a rotting mineshaft or something. Little things like that can make the maps much more interesting.
You also need to add a lot for maps. It seems like there are only three as far as I can tell, two of which are just obstacle courses, which is a kind of boring theme and the other has literally no obstacles and is really wide open and empty. Add more maps with different themes.
Yeah so actually I am have been trying to fix it, but I have had no success so far… you can refer to this topic for the issue Why won't chat work for my game?
Ok I can try to make the maps less boring, but as for making them a tighter and less open, once you start getting faster, there is this weird thing that happens every time you touch wall, it happens in other games too, and I don’t know why it does it, but I think it is something like Roblox is trying to keep the character from glitching or messing up, when running into an object, so they get bounced around all crazy. If you played one of the maps, Sandy Dash, it was really pushing it. So the maps are practically unplayable if everything is tighter, until Roblox finds a way to change the way they try to deal with high speed objects colliding with stationary ones.
Ok I actually have 9 maps in the game at the moment, it most likely looked like 3 because that is all that shows up in the voting frame a one time. I kinda want to add some more, especially for the last lobby, but do you think I should add more?
