Actually, when you reply to a topic that’s really old, a message warns you about it.
I really hope to be ranked up too!
I really want to have the ability to post bug reports and features request.
All nice QOL improvements. One thing you should do is move #development-discussion down on the categories list and also move #forum-help up so new members will easily find out about the #forum-help:forum-questions sub categories and ask questions if needed.
I’m totally putting this topic on my profile’s Featured Topic so more people can know about this
Will you be checking the content is specified on Dev Hub before unlisting/archiveing?
There are a couple of APIs I’ve had issues finding specification details for on Dev Hub, and it’s only been once I’ve found the announcement thread it becomes clear what the specification of the API was. (can’t remember the exact APIs I had these issues with, sorry)
Short term, probably not. But in the long term we do want to try to match the look and feel across various platforms like the DevHub or Talent Hub.
Very happy that tags are seeing more official, proper use. Will we see tags in general be cleaned up though? For example in #help-and-feedback:scripting-support you will see topics unnecessarily tagged with #scripting. Tags are meant to optimize search results, when the category and title alone are not enough. A scripting support topic doesn’t need a #scripting tag since the category is already enough. I would also support the removal of useless tags like #bug-reports:studio- (I don’t know how that is a valid tag in the first place) or #lounge (the tag, but category can go too) since they are used for improper forum uses (e.g tagging non-forum bugs in #forum-help:forum-bugs with the former or writing casual topics and tagging with the latter and assuming all is good).
And, RE community events, can international events go there? Would international developers be encouraged to tag their topics promoting their events with the name of the language? If not, will the supported international categories see similar love?
Is the Graceful theme already removed? I don’t see it on the list of themes and am hoping the post isn’t referring to the Grey Amber theme I use. That would be disappointing
Following up to what @centraltrains said in the previous reply,
Is Roblox fixing the articles in the DevHub?
There are some scripts in the articles that they need to fix, such as the script for SocialService, which has a typo in it.
That’s strange. For some reason it’s still available for me.
I’m assuming the only reason I still have it is because its slowly rolling out to all the developers right now.
I’d really like to clean up old tags, but 1) that’s going to take a lot of TLC to do well and 2) I also don’t want to suddenly be too restrictive on their use/creation. Noted on some of the unnecessary tags that are being applied, I’ll follow up with the teams that manage those categories to see what we can do in the short term. A cleanup is definitely on our to-do!
The category will be for all of our Event Organizers to post in. It’s a global group so I assume that will also include international events. Will follow up with the events team to make sure international events will be supported somewhere
@Kairomatic Will you be taking ideas for a new way to get to TL2 from the community or will @DevEngagementTeam come up will a new system
I think this is the correct category to raise DevHub issues, has it been reported there already? If so, link me and I can bump the report to the team
EDIT: Gah, sorry if you can’t post there because of the restricted perms T^T
I can’t post bug reports there since I’m not a regular.
Can’t wait for these updates to come!
Most of these updates are already out, but some are slowly being rolled out.
The roblox dark theme is weird, and will take some getting used to. The font is so w i d e. The blue is also bright and blinding with all the darkness around it.
The new dark theme loks amazing, nice job to everyone who worked on the update! Colors are noice! ^-^
Honestly looks amazing, Good work guys!
A few suggestions on what you should do next:
-
Split up #development-discussion into separate categories because Development Discussion is currently too broad. For example, subcategories like “Scripting Discussion” for discussions related to scripting would be nice.
-
Studio support should be a subcategory of #help-and-feedback for questions like “Difference between saving to Roblox and publishing to Roblox”.
