What’s Chromatic Aberration Effect?
Hit it google., I’m lazy to type long ahh message…
" Thank you google "
So is that clear to you?
Well if you still confusing… well it’s a color distortion that creates an outline of unwanted color along the edges of objects in a photograph or in the video projector aswell! or… a common optical phenomenon that occurs when a lens can’t focus all colors of light to the same point
Once you take it now, And you use for your own game development, May i kindly ask you that can i see your creation, I’d loved to see my creation being apart of your game! Thank you!
Cool but I hate how it overlaps on the character and how intense it looks. Makes it look pretty bad. Sorry to say.
Maybe try toning it down a bit? I have a few ideas to prevent it from overlapping but I don’t think they are much viable (they are I am just too lazy to explain.)
It’s very cool and interesting. I’m not a big fan of chromatic aberration, as it can make me quite nauseous, but it’s cool nonetheless.
I wouldn’t be using this for any of my games anytime soon since the implementation of this effect is quite performance-intensive by using 3 layers of ViewportFrame and WorldModel, but I myself couldn’t find a workaround for this either so it’s understandable.
I’ve also encountered the same problem as @awry_y with the affected being on top of the character and not rendering on parts with mesh in them:
Yep, the effect doesn’t really synchronize with the camera by default.
You’ll need to adjust the configuration, which is inside the script itself. Also, this isn’t really a finished product, so you might need to tweak it in the config module.
There’s another reason for this
it’s independent of the frame rate.
This means that at higher frame rates, the effect sticks to the part better, while at lower frame rates, it doesn’t stick as well since i make it intentional. You’ll have to manage this yourself, but it’s not hard to do, it all about delta-time stuff.
I understand where you’re coming from with chromatic aberration
it can definitely be a hit-or-miss effect depending on personal preference…
As for the performance aspect, you’re absolutely right. Using multiple layers of ViewportFrame and WorldModel can be intensive it normal, and it’s tricky to find an alternative that achieves the same visual quality by using EditableMesh, but i don’t think want to be messed with that one much since i don’t really have knowledge about it.
Regarding the issue with the effect being on top of the character and not rendering on parts with meshes, that’s something I’ve also noticed already but i don’t think i will add the support to it since i don’t have so much time to spend on it, really sorry about that!
