Gambling and Roblox's Policy about it

Recently, I cooked up with a game that I would feel hit big on Roblox called The Button!. Long story short it flopped, hard and was built fundamentally wrong with a lack of fun for solo-players leading to players quit and the game never really being shown in Roblox’s algorithm.

After a bit of thought, something popped in my mind. A game that would be fun, multiplayer or singleplayer. A Casino :money_mouth_face: . Now, Now, I know that sounds really bad but let me explain myself :sob:.

The currency used in the game will be “Tokens”. A currency just for our game completely unrelated to robux. No robux is spent on anything that can be gambled, it would only be possibly spent for cosmetics within the game (IE Skins).

I’ve been wondering how allowed something like this would be, since this isn’t too clear on whether currencies not purchased with real money can be gambled:

Specifically, simulated gambling will no longer be allowed on our platform. Any experience that has simulated gambling (i.e., playing with virtual chips, simulated betting) will no longer be allowed on our platform

Is this game something that Roblox would allow, there’s obviously lootboxes in the form of eggs but casino games with real betting and gambling, just fake money?

I thought games like Arcade Island allowed robux purchases of the ingame currency used on gambling/chance related games?

idk… that sounds a bit against ToS…

Clearly it isn’t because the game still exists after about 7 years despite me, and likely many others, reporting it on multiple occasions.

Edit: Oh yeah and the game is rated suitable for everyone, of all ages, because clearly gambling with credits you can purchase for robux is perfectly safe and allowed for all ages.

Yeah, but lootboxes exist which is a form of gambling by technicallity???

Alright what, now im confused.

lootboxes (PaidRandomItems) are only allowed if the items cannot be exchanged for stuff of value (robux, more lootboxes, etc), otherwise its gambling

Well, then thats a loophole cause most paid eggs in simulators indirectly lead to other lootboxes through boosts the pets give.

tbf, lootboxes are a very controversial topic.
the line between gambling and lootboxes isn’t that well defined…
